What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a condition that affects one in three Australians. When left unchecked, it can negatively impact every aspect of a person’s life.  

 

The majority of people who experience anxiety do so silently. They spend their days trying to act ‘normal’, expending vast amounts of energy to make it through the day. Some describe themselves as ‘losing their mind’ and feeling ‘out of control’. 

 

People try many remedies to ease the pressure, from relaxation treatments, counselling, medication, and supplements. Well-meaning relatives and friends offer suggestions such as energy healing, dietary changes, a holiday, or an exercise regime. Still, nothing moves the dial, and you feel like a failure.

What are the symptoms of anxiety?

The symptoms of stress are varied; however, people who experience chronic anxiety are likely to experience some of the following:

Is Hypnotherapy effective for treating anxiety?

Stress symptoms can be eliminated with Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy. 

 

Hypnosis will enable you to access the part of your mind that controls your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. (Known as the unconscious mind.)

 

Through direct and powerful communication with your unconscious mind, hypnosis will enable you to communicate with your subconscious mind to rewire and reprogramme unwanted thoughts and behaviours. 

How many Hypnotherapy sessions do I need?

Hypnotherapy is described as ‘brief’ therapy, meaning treatment is conducted over a short period, usually 4-6 sessions.

 

Unlike other forms of therapy, we do not delve into your memories or traumas.

 

Our attention is focused on the patterns of behaviour you experience as unhelpful or the thoughts that trigger your anxiety. We seek to replace them with resourceful thoughts and habits that free you from experiencing anxiety.

During a hypnotherapy session, a qualified hypnotherapist will guide you through a process to induce a trance-like state that helps focus your mind. You can respond more readily to suggestions that improve or eliminate unwanted thoughts and behaviours in this relaxed state. The initial session is 90 minutes, followed by 60-minute sessions.

 

Sessions are held online or face to face.

 

Sessions begin with talking, so your therapist can understand what you are experiencing. The hypnosis session follows. You will be given homework which includes listening to a recording before you go to bed.

 

During the hypnotherapy session, you remain awake, relaxed and in control.

Your hypnosis session will be 100% tailored to your specific needs and outcomes.

Hypnosis is a safe, gentle and relaxing experience, and it is designed to get to the source of the anxiety and provide a new, positive outlook on life.

A 90-minute introductory session is held to identify and explore the areas you want to change and for your therapist to devise an appropriate and personal treatment plan.

 

You will then be guided in your first hypnotherapy session, which lasts approximately 15 – 20 minutes.

 

Typically for phobias and fear-related issues, 4 – 6 sessions are required
